Sumac next week in Helsinki

American/Canadian post-metal supergroup SUMAC will play next week in Helsinki, Finland. The concert will be at the venue Tavastia (Helsinki) on October 2. The band will release this October their third collaborative album with Japanese free music provocateur Keiji Haino «Into This Juvenile Apocalypse Our Golden Blood to Pour let us Never» via Thrill Jockey Records. SUMAC was formed in 2014 by Aaron Turner (MAMIFFER, OLD MAN GLOOM, exISIS), Nick Yacyshyn (BAPTISTS) and Brian Cook (RUSSIAN CIRCLES, esTHESE ARMS ARE SNAKES, exBOTCH). They have released four studio albums, three collaborative albums with Keiji Haino and two live albums. Their music includes elements of sludge metal, post-metal and experimental music. Finnish experimental and avant rock squad PHARAOH OVERLORD will be opening the gig.
