Acid Mother Temple returns to Finland this May
Japanese psychedelic rock legends ACID MOTHER TEMPLE will return to Finland this year as a part of their new Survive The Metaverse Tour 2026. The concert will take place on My 6th in Helsinki at Kuudes Linja.
ACID MOTHER TEMPLE AND THE MELTING PARAISO U.F.O. was formed in 1995.The band is led by guitarist Kawabata Makoto and early in their career featured many musicians and offshoot groups and collaborations, but by 2004 the line-up had coalesced with only a few core members and frequent guest vocalists. The band has released albums frequently on a number of international record labels as well as the Acid Mothers Temple family record label, which was established in 1998 to document the activities of the whole collective.
The group began as a community of musicians, artists, and dancers in Japan. The name Acid Mothers Temple & The Melting Paraiso U.F.O. was established to represent their «underground freak out» sound. Performances are often long, improvised jams, drawing from 1970s progressive rock, psychedelic rock, and electronic music. Their sound is often characterised as heavy, noisy, and cosmic, with influences from HAWKWIND, GONG, and drone music. They have released over 100 albums, blending krautrock, drone, and freak-out noise
