Hypocrisy next month in Helsinki
Iconic Swedish melodic death metal HYPOCRISY will play in Helsinki next month with their new «Mass Hallucination Tour 2026″. The concert will be at the venue Tavastia (Helsinki) on April 7th .
HYPOCRISY was formed inOctober 1991 in Ludvika by Peter Tägtgren. The band has released thirteen studio albums since their inception. Musically, the band started off with a traditional death metal sound on their early albums, but soon turned into a melodic death metal band. Their early lyrics – written by original vocalist Masse Broberg – dealt with anti-Christian themes and Satanism. The band later focused on themes such as the paranormal and extraterrestrials. Their tenth album, «Virus», contains themes more typical of death metal such as violence, the horrors of reality, insanity, torture, war, drug addiction, and emotional strife. Their twelfth album, «End of Disclosure», uses conspiracy and anti-Illuminati themes.
Special guest for the evening will be legendary Norwegian black metal musician ABBATH, and the support acts Swedish death metal band VOMITORY and Norwegian black metal squad VREID.
ABBATH is best known as a founding member of the black metal band IMMORTAL. Before founding IMMORTAL, Abbath performed with OLD FUNERAL alongside future IMMORTAL member Demonaz. His latest album, «Dread Reaver», was released in 2022. Primarily a guitarist, Abbath is also a proficient bassist and drummer, having started his career as a bassist and recorded all drums for IMMORTAL albums «Pure Holocaust» and «Battles in the North».
VOMITORY was formed in 1989 by guitarist Urban Gustafsson and bassist Ronnie Olson. The band has released a total of nine albums, all released on Metal Blade Records. After breaking up in 2013 and reuniting for a one-off show in 2017, VOMITORY officially reformed in 2018.
